Tencel Roving – White

Description

Tencel is a semi-synthetic fibre made from cellulose which comes from wood pulp.
While it’s not strictly a natural fibre like cotton or linen, it’s considered more environmentally friendly than many synthetic fibres.
In some cases even some natural ones when considering resource usage.

Though not commonly used for wet felting, Tencel roving can be incorporated into wet felted pieces to add shine and smooth texture.
Combining Tencel with wool roving can create interesting textural contrasts.

Tencel roving can be spun into yarn, either on its own or blended with other fibres.
Once spun, it creates a yarn with a characteristic sheen and drape that’s particularly suitable for lightweight garments and accessories.
The resulting yarn tends to have excellent strength and takes dye beautifully.
