Needle Felt a Sheep with Armature Wire Workshop

April 15 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

$85.00

Have a fun afternoon with fibre artist and instructor Cathy Disbrow by learning to needle felt your very own sheep figure. This little sheep is made by creating a wire armature and wrapping it with wool and stabbing with a special felting needle to keep those fibres in place. Students will also learn how to properly attach the curly wool locks to sheepy. The sheep is 4.5″ long x 3″ high. Great workshop for all levels of felters. If you don’t want to make the armature wire, you can purchase one when registering.

Some of the wool you’ll use is from the pioneer village’s very own flock of Border Leicester sheep. Before and after the workshop, you will be able to meet the sheep in their field enclosure.

Needles, wire, wool, and curly wool locks to create your sheep are included in the cost. Foam felting pads are provided for students to use during the workshop and can be purchased separately. If you don’t want to make your wire armature, you can purchase one that’s already made for $5.00. Please choose this option when purchasing your ticket.
